The first edition of Society for the Welfare of Intellectually Disabled (SWID) Bangladesh National Indoor Games, sponsored by Walton, concluded at the organisation’s head office, SWID Alamgir MA Kabir Auditorium, yesterday.
State Minister for Finance and Planning MA Mannan distributed the prizes as the chief guest. Additional director of Walton FM Iqbal bin Anwar Dawn, Bangladesh Development Group vice president Dilara Mustafa, SWID president Jawaherul Islam Mamun and member secretary Hemayetuddin Ahmed were also present on the occasion.
All the first, second and third prize winners received Taka three, two and one thousand respectively. A total of 100 intellectually disabled and autistic children participated in the two-day event.
The winners are - table tennis (boys) – Rais (1st), Rabbi (2nd), Dipu (3rd) and (girls) – Farzana Tanzia (1st), Nipa (2nd), Murfika (3rd). In badminton (boys) – Tarikul (1st), Haripad (2nd), Monir (3rd) and (girls) – Rabeya (1st), Munni (2nd), Kaniz Fatema (3rd). In bou chi (boys) – Mujahid (1st), Asadullah (2nd), Tuhin (3rd) and (girls) Chameli (1st), Zakia (2nd), Rumana (3rd).
