Tofail: Bangladesh to be a middle income country by ‘21

Bangladesh will become a middle-income country by 2021 and there will no poverty here by then, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed has said. 

The minister came up with the optimism while addressing a program to observe the National Cooperative and Youth Day at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Bhola on Saturday. 

The commerce minister also said the country is going forward. Our young people are working in every case. Our exports have increased, and so did the trade, the reserve as well. 

On way to becoming a middle income country, the development is continuing under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government, he said.

Among others, District Administrator Abdul Momin, Deputy Commissioner Md Selim Reza, Police Super Md Moniruzzaman, Municipality Mayor Moniruzzaman Monir, Upazila Chairman Md Mosharraf Hossain were also present along with other officials of the cooperative and youth department.

Earlier, the commerce minister inaugurated the National Cooperative and Youth Day hoisting the national flag and freeing pigeons, the symbol of peace. 

Commerce minister also inaugurated the projects work of the third phase of Bhola District Town Protection Project, website of the district’s newspaper the daily Ajker Bhola.
