Gonojagoron Moncho yesterday started a two-day march – Jagoron Jatra – towards the northern part of the country to press home their six points of demand, including scrapping of presidential clemency for war crimes convicts and putting a ban on Jamaat-Shibir politics in the country.
With around 165 activists being aboard four buses and two micro buses, the march, led by Moncho Spokesperson Dr Imran H Sarker, began from Shahabag Projonmo Chattar around 9:30am.
Before the march took off, Imran told reporters that they would hold several rallies in different places on the way to their journey to the north and would wind up their programme through a rally in Rajshahi on Saturday afternoon.
“We have started the journey to press home our six point demands including a constitutional amendment to ignore war criminals’ presidential clemency and to create awareness among people about issuing a ban on Jamat-Shibir politics”. Gonojagoron Moncho held street rallies including Manikganj, Jhenaidha, Meherpur, Chuadanga yesterday.
