Mostafa Sarwar Farooki’s “Piprabidya” has been nominated for the Silver Screen Award at Singapore International Film Festival to be held later this year. To take part in the event, Mostafa Sarwar Farooki, Noor Imran Mithu, the lead actor and Faridur Reza Sagor, managing director of the film’s production company Impress Telefilms, will head to the festival on December 11.
The other noted films nominated this year includes Indian film “Court,” directed by Chaitanya Tamhane, Filipino film “Above The Clouds,” directed by Jose Pepe Diokno, “The Monk,” opening film of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Russian film “The Owners,” Malaysian film “Men Who Save The World,” directed by Liew Seng Tat, and others.
Every year, around 10-11 best films in Asia get nominated in different categories in the award. The jury board then select the best film, best director, best actors and best cinematographer from the films.
The closing ceremony of the festival will be held on December 13.
