Facebook has removed a picture showing a new mother breastfeeding her premature baby, after a user complained it contained "offensive" nudity.
The mother, Emma Bond, said she wanted to share the image of the "special moment" with her daughter Carene, who was born 12 weeks early.
According to a report by the Telegraph, Bond had been told her daughter was unlikely to survive more than three days when she was born prematurely on October 3.
But she was able to breastfeed her for the first time on Sunday, prompting her to share the image with family and friends, who had followed her progress.
She then uploaded it to a pro-breastfeeding website, where it attracted 166,000 likes.
However, users who then tried to share it on their own Facebook profiles found the link was deleted following a complaint from an anonymous user who reported it as "offensive".
Miss Bond said she was "upset" by Facebook's decision to remove the photo.
She said: “It is something very natural and special and should be promoted."
Facebook said breastfeeding photos have never been against the firm's Community Standards, but nipples had to be covered or concealed. It said the picture had been removed in error and had since been reinstated.
In a message to Bond, Facebook said: "The image that you shared was removed in error - it has now been republished.
