Another senior official has replied to the show-cause notice issued by the Public Administration Ministry for taking freedom fighter certificate from the Liberation War Affairs Ministry by giving false information.
Public Service Commission’s Secretary AKM Amir Hossain gave the reply yesterday.
Earlier, Health Secretary Neaz Uddin Mia, former liberation war affairs secretary KH Masud Siddiqui, now officer on special duty and its former joint secretary Abul Kashem Talukder submitted the replies on Monday.
Public Administration Ministry’s Additional Secretary Shahjahan Ali Mollah, who is working as an acting secretary in absence of the ministry’s senior secretary, denied making any comment on the issue.
He said, “The decision in this regard will be taken after Senior Secretary Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury returns home from abroad.”
“I’m doing only routine work in absence of the secretary. Most of the officials are senior to me. So, I should not make any comment on the issue,” he added.
The Public Administration Ministry on October 13 served the show-cause notices to the four officials, asking them to reply within 10 working days. They received the notices on October 15.
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) found them guilty of receiving the freedom fighter certificates. Former senior secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office Molla Waheduzzaman, now chairman of the Privatisation Commission, was also found guilty.
The Liberation War Affairs Ministry had already cancelled the certificates of the four officials and suspended the certificate of Molla Wahed allowing him to appeal against the ministry’s decision.
