The East West University Intra Soccer Championship kicked off at the Army Museum Field in Bijoy Sharani yesterday. Participated by 11 academic departments the three-day tournament is organised by the EWU Sports Club.
Department of Social Relations and Department of Economics played two matches each and were the first among the other departments to book a place in the quarter-finals. Borshon of Department of Social Relations was the stand out performer on the opening day that saw 20 goals scored from eight matches.
Faculties of different departments were present throughout the day. The final of the tournament will be played tomorrow at the same venue.
