Neighbour has chopped an elderly man to death following an altercation in Kalibari area of Maheshpur under Jamalpur Sadar upazila on Monday.
The deceased is Tamijuddin Toji,60, resident of the area.
Officer-in-Charge of Jamalpur Sadar police station said: “Family members of the victim were locked engaged in an altercation with their neighbour Saju,23, son of Sayeed Ali. At one stage, Saju attacked Toji and hacked him to death around 11am.”
“Immediately after the attack, Saju fled the scene. However, the police managed to catch him.”
The police have recovered the body and sent it to Jamalpur Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
A case would be file in this connection, said the OC.
