Expat killed in Saudi road accident

An expatriate has been killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a covered van Saudi Arabia's Rafia area.

The deceased is Masud Rana, 40, hailed from Mahadevpur village under Lakshmipur Sadar upazila.

Lutfur Rahman, father of the victim, said: “Masud received severe injuries in a head-on collision between his truck and a covered van around 10pm (local time).”

“He was rushed to a local hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.”

Masud was working as a truck driver in Saudi Arabia since 1994.

Masud’s family urged the government to ensure necessary assistance in bringing the body back to Bangladesh.

Dalalbazar Union Parishad Chairman Kamruzzaman Sohel said: “We are preparing documents to bring his body back as soon as possible.”
