The government has appointed a new chairman for Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Corporation, widely known as Petrobangla.
Istiaq Ahmed, additional secretary of the cabinet division, was made the new chairman of Petrobangla on Wednesday.
Public Administration Ministry issued a notice in this regard.
On October 19, Nazimuddin Chowdhury was appointed as the acting chairman of Petrobangla.
The post of state-owned organisation fell vacant when previous chairman Hussain Monsur’s tenure ended on October18.
