The families of the 33 people, who have lost their lives in Monday's Natore bus collision, would get Tk100,000 each as compensation, said Road Transport and Bridge Minister Obaidul Quader.
The minister made the announcement while visiting the distressed family members of the road accident victims at Sidhuli village, where 14 people have been killed.
Before visiting Sidhuli village, the minister visited the accident spot at around 12 midnight.
He said: “Tk100,000 will be given to the families of each of the victims from the prime minister's relief fund and the government will bear the medical expense of the injured people.”
He expressed his profound shock and sorrow at the deaths of the villagers.
At least 33 people were killed, and many more injured, in a fatal road accident at Rezur Crossing of Razapur area in Baraigram upazila on Monday afternoon.
The deceased were from Sidhuli village of Gurudaspur upazila, Taranagar of Baraigram upazila, and Hizli of Singra upazila.
Police were able to identify 23 of the deceased and handed over 22.
