The members of Border Guard Battalion (BGB) have detained two Bangladeshis while they were illegally entering Bangladesh from India.
The detainees are Imran Ali, 20, son of Nazmul Akhter and Amir Hossain, 21, son of Anisur Rahman of Beldangi village.
They were held while returning from India at Melani border area under Haripur upazila in Thakurgoan on Tuesday morning, said BGB 30 acting commander Major Touhid Bin Ishak.
He said: “A patrolling team of BGB detained them while they were crossing 371/6 border pillar early Tuesday.
“They smuggle cattle and phyensidyl from India.”
The detainees were handed to Haripur police station, he added.
