US embassy in Dhaka, through its partner Saimon Overseas Ltd, has opened visa collection centres in Sylhet and Chittagong.
Applicants can submit and collect their passports and other documents in conjunction with an application for a US visa at the centres, said a press release of the US embassy.
The applicants would still need to appear for an interview for visa in Dhaka, however, the applicants of Sylhet and Chittagong issued visas can now pick up their passports from the regional centres.
Qualified visa applicants who have been issued visas after 2008 can submit their passports for the interview waiver programme, a service that allows them to renew their visas without an interview.
