A housewife has allegedly been burnt to death in Achargaon area of Nandail in the district.
The deceased is Tamanna Aktar, 24, second wife of Md Helal Uddin.
Victim's father Md Momotaj Uddin filed a complaint with Nandail model police station claiming the incident as murder.
Momotaj Uddin said his daughter phoned him around 2am on Friday and told him that she was dying. "Then the mobile connection was disconnected."
He alleged that Helal's first wife Nargis and her children killed Tamanna in a planned way.
Nuruzzaman, emergency unit's doctor of Nandail upazila health complex, said Tamanna had sustained 70% burns.
"She died on way to Dhaka Medical College Hospital," he added.
Nandail model police station Officer-in-Charge Saiful Islam Foraji said preparation of filling a case in this connection was underway.
