Bangladeshi shepherd dies in BSF firing

Border Security Force (BSF) of India has shot dead a Bangladeshi shepherd in Joynagar camp inside India near Gazipur frontier in Satkhira.

The dead was identified as Ayub Ali, 35, son of Shomsher Sarder hailing from Boikari village, said sources in Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).

They said yesterday morning the firing took place near main pillar 6 while some Bangladeshi shepherds were returning to the country with cows from India.

The BSF troops in Joynagar camp fired at them leaving Ayub dead on spot and some others injured.

However, identities of the injured could not be confirmed yet.

Ayub’s dead body was sent to his village while BGB’s vigilance had been made stronger at the frontier after the incident, said sources in BGB.
