4 more arrested over Tangail 4 murder

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested four including two accused in connection with the killing of a woman and her three daughters in Tangail.

The arrestees are second accused of the case Abul Kashem alias Kacched,50, seventh accused Nur Mohammad alias Nipu,24, Jahangir’s relatives Ashif and kawsar.

Mohiuddin Faruqi, company commander of Crime Prevention Company 3 of RAB 12, said: "Acting on tipped off, we arrested Kawser around 8pm on Wednesday night and Ashif on early Thursday in Dhaka.

“Based on their given information, we arrested Kashem and Nipu from Lohar Bridge area at Kamrangirchar in the capital around 5pm."

Thirteen people have so far been arrested in connection with the case.

On October 11, police announced a Tk100,000 bounty to capture the prime accused Jahangir in the killing case.

A ninth-grader Monira was burnt to death along with her mother and two sisters as she refused to marry Jahangir, an expatriate living in Singapore also her neighbour.

The incident took place at South Sohagpara village in Mirzapur on Tuesday after miscreants set their house ablaze while they were asleep.

A case was filed against 10 people over the incident on the same day.

Jahangir Hossain, 25, was made the prime accused in the case.
