Poet Nirmalendu Goon’s open-heart surgery is underway in city’s Labaid Hospital.
As his physical condition deteriorated, the poet was shifted to Labaid Hospital under the supervision of Dr Baren Chakrabarti.
Dr Baren Chakrabarti told the Dhaka Tribune that the surgery had begun at 12:30pm and would continue till 3:30pm.
Cardiac specialist Dr Lutfor Rahman is conducting the surgery, he said.
