Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has extended her heartiest congratulations to Pakistan's female education activist Malala Yousafjai and Indian child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi for jointly winning this year's Nobel Peace Prize. In a congratulatory message, the prime minister said fearless Malala, the youngest Nobel laureate, lit the light of education in the Taliban-dominated Swat valley in Pakistan by risking her life. On the other hand, she said, Kailash Satyarthi, who was born in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh, had silently struggled for a long time to establish the rights of the helpless children of poor families. Sheikh Hasina hoped that this achievement would encourage and make both of them more dedicated to establishing world peace. Besides, she said, it would make the people of the sub-continent more courageous in establishing peace and justice by encountering militancy, terrorism and communalism. The prime minister wished long life, good health and continued success of Malala Yousafjai and Kailash Satyarthi.
