Four people have been killed and four others injured in a road accident on Jessore-Khulna highway in Noapara area of Avaynagar upazila in the district.
Avaynaga highway police outpost Officer-in-Charge Farid Uddin Bhuiyan confirmed about the deaths to the Dhaka Tribune.
The deceased were identified as human hauler driver Roni, 30, son of Harunur Rashid of Avaynagar upazila, Rokeya Begum, 40, of Khulna, Badier Rahman, 37, of Avaynagar upazila and Mithu Rani Biswas, 45, of Narail.
The incident took place at 3:15pm on Saturday when a Khulna-bound bus from Jessore headed on a human hauler coming from opposite direction, killing four people on the spot and four others injured.
