Tangail 4 murders: Bounty announced on Jahangir

As part of an intensified bid to capture the prime accused in the killing of a woman and her three daughters in Tangail, the police have announced a Tk100,000 bounty on him.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Dhaka Range) Mahfuzul Haque Nuruzzaman made the announcement while addressing journalists at Mirzapur police station on Saturday afternoon.

Earlier on Friday night, the police detained the main suspect Jahangir's uncle Badaruddin in order to know the whereabouts of the “killer.”

A ninth-grader Monira was burnt to death along with her mother and two sisters as she refused to marry Jahangir an expatriate in Singapore also her neighbour.

The incident took place at South Sohagpara village in Mirzapur on Tuesday after miscreants set their house ablaze while they were asleep.

The dead were 32-year-old Hasna Begum, wife of Mojibur Rahman who is an expatriate in Malaysia, and her daughters Monira, 13, Mim, 10, and Moly, 7.

A case was filed against 10 people over the fire incident on the same day. Jahangir Hossain, 25, was made the prime accused in the case.
