Four people, including a union parishad member, were killed when a bus ran over a battery-run auto-rickshaw on the Khulna-Jessore Highway near BGB headquarters in the district.
The deceased are Arongghata Union Parishad member Siddiqur Rahman, Shahin, Aziz and the auto-rickshaw driver Elias Hossain.
Khalishpur police station Sub-Inspector Noor Islam said: “A speedy-driven bus ran the auto-rickshaw over around 2:30pm, leaving all four auto-rickshaw passengers dead on the spot.”
“Later, police seized the bus and sent the bodies to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue.”
