Bangladesh wrestler Billal Hossain claimed the bronze medal in the 97kg category of the the 10th Asian Wrestling Championship in Kazakhstan last Sunday. The three-day competition started last Friday.
Wrestlers from Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and hosts Kazakhstan participated in the event.
Billal later expressed his delight. “I have tried my best to fight for the country in my very first appearance in a big-scale event like this one. The bronze medal is a big success for me and it means that we can win more laurels for the country with proper training and planning.”
Bangladesh Wrestling Federation vice president FM Iqbal bin Anwar Dawn accompanied Billal in Kazakhstan as the team official.
