Police arrested a convicted killer of former Awami League lawmaker Ahsanullah Master at Kotbaria village of Sonapur union under Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali on Wednesday night.
The arrestee is Akram Hossain Vulu 45.
Shawkat Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Sonaimuri police station, confirmed the Dhaka Tribune about the arrest.
He said: "A police team of Tongi came here and arrested the convicted killer with the help of Sonaimuri police while he was staying at his father-in-law's house."
Ahsanullah Master, a freedom fighter and a lawmaker from Gazipur 2 constituency, was shot dead at a rally of Shechchhasebak League in Tongi in 2004.
A Dhaka court on April 16, 2005, handed down death sentence to 22 people for shooting the AL leader dead.
