Language activist Abdul Matin has died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Wednesday morning.
BSMMU Director Brigadier General (Retd) Abdul Majid Bhuiyan told the Dhaka Tribune that Abdul Matin breathed his last around 9am.
He was undergoing treatment under Professor Abdul Hye.
The language hero was shifted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) from City Hospital on August 19, after he suffered a stroke that partially paralysed him.
He left behind his wife, two daughters, a host of admirers and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Matin, 88, was suffering from old age complications for the past 17 years.
