Police arrested eight adolescent muggers for snatching a DSLR camera and a bicycle in separate drives from different parts of Chittagong city yesterday.
Shah Mohammed Abdur Rawuf, assistant commissioner of Kotwali Circle of Chittagong Metropolitan Police said police arrested the adolescents from city’s Kotwali Chawakbazar, Sholoshahar, Sulokbahar and Chandgaon areas in two different charges.
The eight adolescents are students of schools and colleges in Chittagong and most them come from wealthy families, said the AC.
Of the arrestees three were arrested for hijacking a bicycle from Kotwali intersection on September 4 while five others were arrested for snatching a camera away in CBR area on September 14, said the AC adding that both the groups had committed the crimes using facebook and internet.
Police recovered the camera and the bicycle while two cases were lodged with the police station regarding the incidents.
