A Bangladeshi businessman has been shot dead by unidentified miscreants in South Africa's Johannesburg.
The deceased is Salahuddin Babu, 26, son of Mustafa Chowdhury, of Kounia village under Faridganj upazila in Chandpur.
Babu's maternal uncle Jakir Hossain Sayed said: “Unidentified miscreants opened fire on Babu around 9pm [local time] on Tuesday while he was returning home from his shop.”
“The shooting left him critically injured and he succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.”
He urged the Bangladeshi government to take the necessary steps to bring Babu's body into the country.
Babu left for South Africa two years ago and started a business with his brother-in-law.
