Five youths of Tongi Juvenile Correction Centre in Gazipur have hurt themselves with sharp weapons like blades.
The injured are Nayeem, 16, Iqbal, 16, Panjas, 16, Faruk, 17 and Asad 17.
Later, they were taken to Tongi Hospital, said residential doctor Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury.
Helal Uddin, medical compounder of the youth centre, admitted them to the hospital at 1pm, he added.
“The youths hurt themselves with the help of sharp weapons like blades in the class room on Monday noon,” Rabiul Islam, supervisor of the organisation, told Dhaka Tribune:
“They were later sent to Tongi Hospital. All of them are now out of danger. They might have caused the incident to occur due to frustration.”
