A 50-kilometre long tailback has been created on the Dhaka-Tangail highway following a road accident.
Elenga highway police outpost sergeant Kamruzzaman Raj said: “The traffic gridlock was created following a road accident at Garinda on the highway around 2:30am on Monday.”
He said a tailback has been created from Elenga to Chandra since the morning.
Gorai highway police Officer-in-Charge Jubaidul Alam said the vehicles are moving very slowly.
He said the highway police have taken measures regarding the traffic congestion and will normalise the situation within an hour.
