The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Ministry yesterday scrutinised three amendment bills relating to the three CHT District Councils.
The committee, in its 5th meeting, scrutinised the three bills – Rangamati Hill Tracts District Parishad (Amendment) Bill 2014; Khagrachhari Hill Tracts District Parishad (Amendment) Bill 2014; and Bandarban Hill Tracts District Parishad (Amendment) Bill 2014.
Chairman of the standing committee RAM Ubaidul Moktadir Chowdhury presided over the meeting at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban. Committee members state minister for CHT Affairs Bir Bahadur, Mohammad Subid Ali Bhuiyan, Amanur Rahman Rana, Kujendra Lal Tripura, Firoza Begum Chinu and MA Awal attended.
CHT Affairs Secretary Nabo Bikram Kishore was present in the meeting.
