A probe committee of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), formed to investigate how Pakistani flags were distributed among students at a state programme, has failed to submit its report during the deadline set by the government.
The three member committee, formed on September 22, was given three working days to submit its report on the issue.
DSHE Director for Finance and Procurement Wing Julfikar Rahman is heading the three member committee.
“We are working on it and hope that we will be able to file the report by this week,” Julfikar told the Dhaka Tribune yesterday.
He further added that the committee has sought five more working days to complete its report.
On September 20 at the concluding ceremony of a sports competition for the schools and Madrasas, a good number of miniature Pakistani flags were found inside packets of Bangladeshi flags when teachers were handing them over to students, who were supposed to wave them during the function.
One of the schools that were given Pakistani flags along with bundles of Bangladesh flags was Motijheel Ideal School and College.
The school management informed local lawmaker Rashed Khan Menon, also the civil aviation minister, regarding the issue.
Menon later sent a letter to the education minister demanding punishment to those responsible for the anti-state act.
