Two siblings have been killed after a water-loaded truck ran over them in front of Sathkira sadar upazila parishad.
The deceased are Towfika Zaman Ruhina, 12, and her brother Mehedi Hasan Tamim, 22.
Quoting locals, Satkhira sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Golam Rahman said Tamim was taking his sister Ruhina to drop her to school by his motorcycle around 7am on Sunday.
"The motorcycle knocked a pedestrian down and lost control over its steering. Meanwhile, a speedy water-loaded truck ran over them, leaving the sibling dead on the spot," said the OC.
The killer truck was seized, but its driver and helper managed to flee the scene.
Police recovered the bodies and sent them to sadar hospital morgue.
