A fire has broken out in a garment factory at Kashimpur area in the Gazipur industrial belt early Sunday. Tongi Fire Service Station Officer Murshidul Islam said the fire had broken out in the Mega Dying Young Factory around 4:30am and spread very rapidly. On information, four firefighting units from Tongi, Dhaka and Savar brought the fire under control around 8:40am. Chakrabarti police outpost in-charge Zakir Hossain told the Dhaka Tribune that the fire originated from an electric short circuit. The extent of the loss caused by the fire could not be estimated yet.
