Director Ashiqur Rahman’s action romantic flick “Kistimaat” will be released in more than a hundred cinemas this Eid, with Arefin Shuvo pairing up for the first time with actress Achol.
The film tells the story of a police officer with a casual attitude to his job, who suddenly changes himself to become dutiful, fighting valiantly against bad guys and putting them behind bars. Achol, who had a brief stint as a model early in her career, finds herself in the familiar zone as she plays the role of a model.
About his role, Shuvo told Dhaka Tribune: “I played the role of a police officer. But its not the typical police officer we’re used to seeing in Bangladeshi films. There are unlikely twists and turns. The audience will love to watch the film.”
The producers have already released a three-minute teaser trailer to a mixed reaction from the viewers. Apart from Shuvo and Achal, the film’s cast also includes Misha Sawdagor, Habib Khan, Afzal Shorif, Rebeka, Sojol, Zadu Azad, Subroto and Robi.
The film’s story, dialogue and screenplay was written by Kashem Ali Dulal. There are a total of five songs, penned by Zahid Hasan Abhi and rendered by Imran, Porshi, Puja, Kona and others. Tiger Media produced the film while Abhi Kathachitra is its distributor.
Meanwhile, Shuvo-starrer “Warning” is also getting released this Eid and currently awaiting approval from the censor board.
