Hasina’s 68th birthday Sunday

The 68th birthday of Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be observed in home and abroad on Sunday.

The ruling Awami League, its associate bodies and other socio-cultural-professional organisations have chalked out elaborate programmes to observe her birthday, reports BSS.

Sheikh Hasina, now in New York City attending the 69th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), will be profusely garlanded and presented with bouquets by the Awami League Central Working Committee (ALCWC) at her hotel suite wishing her good health and long life.

As part of Awami League's central programme, Dhaka City Awami League will organise milad and doa mahfil, distribute clothes among the poor and hold a discussion at its Bangabandhu Avenue office at 4pm.

Milad mahfil will be organised and special prayers will be offered at different mosques including Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Zohr prayer.

Special prayer sessions will also be organised at all the places of worships including Dhakeswari National Temple, pagodas and churches for Sheikh Hasina's good health and long life.

Besides, cooked food will also be distributed among the inmates of orphanages to mark the occasion.

Sheikh Russell Jatiya Shishu Kishore Parishad will distribute sports kits among the child-juvenile.

The organization will hold discussion at the Tower Bhaban auditorium of the National Sports Council in the capital at 11am.

Moreover, Chhatra League, Awami Juba League, Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote, Bangabandhu Shishu Kishore Mela, Awami Muktijoddha League, Awami Muktijoddha Projanma League, Bangabandhu Peshajibi Parishad and other organisations have also slated elaborate programmes in observance of the 68th birthday of Sheikh Hasina.

On this day in 1947, Sheikh Hasina, eldest of two daughters and three sons of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was born in a remote village Tungipara in Gopalganj sub-division in Faridpur district.
