Bangladesh Railway has started selling advance tickets of trains from Friday morning ahead of Eid-ul Azha and Durga Puja.
The selling of advance tickets stated at 9:15am on Friday. The tickets will be available from 9am to 5pm everyday until October 5.
“Train tickets for departure dates October 1 to 5 will be made available chronologically from today. On October 3, people can collect return tickets for October 7,” said Bangladesh Railway Director General M Tofazzal Hossain.
Some 14,010 tickets will be sold today, Md Shakhawat Hossain Khan, station master of Kamlapur Railway Station said.
He said: “The tickets are being sold smoothly and no report of irregularity has been filed till 11am.”
Like every year, a person will be allowed to buy maximum four tickets at a time. Passengers can buy the tickets in advance both online and from the ticket counters.
The return tickets will be available from October 3.
Bijaya Dashami will be celebrated on October 4 while the Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on October 6.
