A Bangladeshi youth has been shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Kusumpur border under Maheshpur upazila of the district on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Ziarul Islam Raju, 20, son of Jakir Hossain, a resident of Dhankhola village in Jibannagar upazila of the district, reports BSS.
Lieutenant Colonel SM Maniruzzaman, director of Chuadanga BGB-6, said the BSF troops from Nonaganj camp opened fire on Raju, near the main pillar no-61/18-T in the bordering area when he entered the Indian territory at about 9pm.
Raju died on the spot.
