The famous duo Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet teamed up to make sure the life of one of the last remaining Titanic survivors was as comfortable as possible - by paying her care home fees.
Millvina Dean, who was only two months old when the ship sank, tragically died in 2008, but before then had been living in a care home in Southampton with a broken hip.
According to Heat magazine’s report published on September 22, 2014, Dean had to sell some of her Titanic mementos to pay for her time in the care home, because she was struggling to pay her bills - until Kate and Leo stepped in. The charitable pair donated $20,000 between them to keep Millvina financially stable - and Celine Dion and the film’s director James Cameron also donated $10,000 each to the fund.
