The government has formed medical teams in all the cattle markets across the country to examine the health of the sacrificial animals on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha.
The medical teams will monitor the cattle markets in the upazila and district levels.
Mohammad Ali Nur, joint secretary of fisheries and livestock ministry, endorsed the information with the Dhaka Tribune.
He said the decision was taken to ensure healthy animals for sacrificing on Eid-ul-Azha.
Chief veterinary officer of fisheries and livestock department will brief the medical teams tomorrow. The medical teams will start working from Thursday.
Twelve medical teams have been formed for the 12 entrance points of Dhaka City Corporation. Each medical team consists of two doctors.
