The government has withheld the freedom fighter certificate of former senior secretary to the prime minister’s office and existing Privatisation Commission Chairman Molla Waheduzzaman as he can appeal in this regard.
However, the certificates of four secretaries were cancelled as those were proven false in the investigation.
The four officials are – Health Secretary Neaz Uddin Mia, Public Service Commission Secretary AKM Amir Hossain, former liberation war affairs secretary (now OSD) KH Masud Siddiqui and former joint secretary of Liberation War Affairs Ministry Abul Kashem Talukder.
Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque told the reporters that Waheduzzaman's certificate was withheld as he has the opportunity to appeal.
The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs issued a gazette notification regarding the matter on Monday afternoon.
The ministry also cancelled the certificates of 28 others.
"The gazette will be sent to the public administration ministry today. After receiving the copy, public administration ministry will take action against the secretaries," the minister said.
