A Dhaka court has rejected the petitions filed by Khaleda Zia to defer the hearing in Zia Charitable Trust and Zia Orphanage Trust cases.
Judge Basudev Roy of the Dhaka’s Third Special Judge’s Court passed the order on Monday afternoon.
Khaleda's counsel Taherul Islam Tuhin told the court that the BNP chairperson could not appear before the court because of security reason as a countrywide dawn-to-dusk hartal is underway.
The former premier has skipped more than 50 such hearing sessions in the past and her counsels have always shown different excuses for her absence.
