The Chittagong-bound Udayan Express from Sylhet got derailed in Brahmanbaria’s Akhaura Railway Junction yesterday morning.
Sources said all the wheels of one of the compartments slipped off the track when the train entered Akhaura Junction around 6am. Though no one was hurt in the incident, a stretch of railway track was damaged and train movements on Sylhet-Chittagong route were suspended for several hours.
Cabin Master of Akhaura Junction Mohammad Jasim Mia said they were working to restore the rail link.
