The government has formulated new rule for Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination that is expected to be in effect from the 35th BCS exam.
According to the rule, the marks for multiple-choice questions in BCS preliminary examination has been increased from 100 to 200 and the duration from one hour to two hours.
The minimum pass mark for viva and written will be 50% instead of the existing 40%.
The rule said a candidate with less than 30% marks in the written examination will be considered to have got no number against the existing rule of 25%.

Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) Chairman Ekram Ahmed said they have not yet received the gazette copy.
He said they will issue a circular regarding the 35th BCS examinations within 24 hours of getting the gazette copy.
The Public Administration Ministry passed Bangladesh Civil Service (age, qualification and examination for direct recruitment) Rules 2014, on Sunday afternoon.
The ministry has also cancelled the previous rule of 1882 with the same name.
The examination fee has been fixed to Tk700 instead of the existing Tk500.
