The authorities of Jahangirnagar University (JU) have caught four admission seekers read-handed while the students were adopting unfair means in the admission test for 2014-15 academic sessions.
The admission seekers are Md Kaisar Ahmed, Nur Mohammad, Md Reza-e-Rabbi and Marzia Mim.
They were held for exchanging their OMR (optical mark recognition) answer sheets during the exam.
Among them, Nur Mohammad was arrested upon suspicion of being a fake aspirant.
Invigilator Abdullah Hel Kafi said Md Kaisar was caught red handed while receiving answers through a mobile phone. He was handed over to the proctorial team of the university.
Kaisar told the journalists that he had made a deal with a student named Rashed who was providing him the answers through text messages in exchange of Tk2 lakh.
JU proctor Tapan Kumar Saha said the matter was informed to the central admission test conduct committee of the university.
When contacted, JU deputy registrar (education) and member secretary of the admission test conduct committee Mohammad Ali said the committee would take action against the guilty very soon.
The admission test was held for honours programmes under B unit which refers to the Faculty of Social Science.
