Police-villagers clash injures 20 in Ashulia

Some 20 people, including five police men, were injured in a clash between villagers and law enforcers at Ashulia in Savar.

The injured police officials are Savar Assistant Police Superintendent Rasel Sheikh, Duty Officer of Dhaka (south) Detective Branch of Police (DB) Shahin Shah Parvez, Sub-Inspectors – Nazrul Islam Shahin, Touhidur Rahman and Ashraful Rahman.

Local sources said a team of DB police raided the office of one Jahangir Alam in Adarsha village yesterday morning.

Later, the villagers locked into a clash with police when the law enforcers tried to arrest Anisur Rahman Ratan, Nazrul Islam Nuru, and Jahangir Alam, leaving 20 people injured.

Police recovered six rounds of bullets, six magazines and three foreign-made pistols during the raid.
