Two youths found dead in Chittagong

Police recovered bodies of two youths from Chittagong city and the district’s Sitakunda upazila on Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon.

The deceased are Didar, 20, son of a hawker Mohammad Hanif; and Sumon, 23, son of Md Nur Islam.

Khulshi police recovered the body of Didar from the peak of a Chittagong City Corporation owned hill at Tigerpass around 12:30pm.

The body was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge Mainhul Islam Bhuiyan of Khulshi police station said Didar had been missing since Wednesday night. "He might have been killed over previous enmity with someone."

Everything will be cleared on receiving the autopsy report while police are looking into the matter, he said.

Earlier, Sitakuna police recovered a decomposed body of one Sumon from a hill top owned by one Jafor at Jangle Salimpur area under Sitakuna upazila on Wednesday night.

OC Imtiaz Bhuiyan of Sitakunda police station said miscreants killed Sumon few days ago and left the dead body on the hilltop.

The body was sent to CMCH morgue for autopsy.

Quoting the victim’s family members, the OC said Sumon went out from their residence at the upazila’s Banglabazar area three days back with one of his friends.

Two cases were lodged with the respective police stations in these regards. However, none was arrested till the filing of this report.
