Kangana Ranaut turns director

Update : 16 Sep 2014, 08:53 PM

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who recently directed and produced a short film titled “The Touch,” is gearing up to direct her first feature film soon. The actress who just returned from New York after attending a course in script writing, is now one of the most demanding stars of Bollywood after her success in “Queen.”

She  even wrote her own dialogues in “Queen.” She says: “When I started getting into the character, I had a certain way of delivering lines with a certain accent. I told Vikas Bahl (the director of the film) that I would like to do the character in my own way.”

Says a source close to the actress: “Kangana is keen on directing a light romantic comedy for her directorial feature film. Most people expect her to helm a gritty, edgy story, but she would rather direct an ideal date film. She loves chick flicks like “Bridget Jone’s Diary,” “The Notebook,” “Crossroads,” “The Devil Wears Prada” and “How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days,” but the film she directs will come from her own experiences, and won’t be a remake.”

Kangana confirms: “It’s too early to talk about my directorial debut right now. All I can say is that, it will be a commercial movie — a complete chick flick.”

Currently, the actress is busy shooting for her films, Anand Rai’s “Tanu Weds Manu 2” and Nikhil Advani’s “Katti Batti.”
