2 killed in Chittagong road crash

Two people have been killed and three others injured in a road accident in Noapara of Raozan upazila in Chittagong.

Deceased are Mohammad Jamal, 28, son of Mohammad Shahidul and Mohammad Akter, 24, son of Mohammad Hadis Mia. Both were hailed from Bhola district, said police sources.

Sub-Inspector Toton Majumdar of Raozan police station, said: “A cement-laden truck turned turtle as its driver lost his control over its steering in the area at 6am on Sunday, leaving two workers of the truck dead on the spot and three others injured critically.”

Injured Kabir, Idris and Jamal were rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, he said.

Police seized the truck but its driver managed to flee the scene.
