Bangabandhu Ainjibi Parishad, Gazipur district unit, has declared Air Vice Marshal (retd) AK Khandaker unwanted in the district protesting publication of his book "1971: Vetore Baire" with controversial information.
The organisation’s leaders came up with the declaration in a press conference held in the Gazipur Press Club on Sunday.
They also demanded withdrawal of all awards conferred on him on liberation war.
Advocate Abu Bakker Siddique, convener of the organisation, presented a written paper to the journalists in the press meet.
Gazipur Press Club President Mohammed Mozibur Rahman, General Secretary M Nazrul Islam, Advocate Monjurul Haque, Ashraful Islam, Moniruzzaman Khan and Masum Billah also spoke on the occasion.
They also urged the government to ban the book immediately.
The book, published by Prothoma on September 2, says Bangabandhu at the end of his historic March 7, 1971 speech had uttered “Joy Pakistan” after “Joy Bangla.”
It also criticised the role of Awami League leadership during the Liberation War saying that the political leadership had failed to play its due role.
