The High Court has extended the bail period of war crimes convict Salauddin Quader Chowdhury to one more year in a case of attack on minorities, extortion and violence against women.
The HC bench of Justice Shawkat Hossain and Justice Farid Ahmed passed the order on Sunday afternoon.
The court also suspended the case procedures for one year.
On March 19, 2007, one Jasim Uddin filed a case against Salauddin Quader and 14 others in connection with the attack, extortion and violence against women in Lalanagar area of Chittagong.
Police submitted a charge sheet against the 15 accused of the case on March 7, 2008.
Later, the HC bench of Justice Sharif Uddin Chaklader and Justice Imdadul Haque granted bail to Salauddin Quader in this connection.
