Widespread Rice hispa locally known as Pamri poka attacks have been reported from four upazilas of the district on the eve of aman season.
The attack appeared when the farmers were struggling to cope with the loss caused by excess rain and repeated inundation of aman seedbeds by tidal water this year.
Consequently, the farmers may not get the targeted quantity of aman paddy from 45,000 hectors of land of the upazilas this season.
